The Outreach Program for Soccer (TOPSoccer) is a community-based program designed to provide children and young adults with physical and/or intellectual disabilities the opportunity tolearn and play soccer. The program has been running through LIJSL for almost 40 years and Lynbrook/ East Rockaway Soccer Club’s program is in its eighth year.
TOPSoccer: Sharing The Beautiful Game
What is TOPSoccer? Watch this video
TOPSoccer is for any child, ages 5-21, who, because of their disability, cannot participate in our
Intramural program, but are still valued members of the US Soccer family. The program is
offered free of charge to all eligible players. TOPSoccer follows the fall and spring intramural
schedule, and for one hour each week these players learn soccer skills, participate in mini-
games, and make new friends.
To facilitate their learning, safety, and success, each player is assigned a buddy who assists as
much or little as that player may need. These buddies are typically high school aged volunteers
who find themselves enjoying their TOPSoccer time as much as the players.
We are always looking for new members to join our TOPSoccer family. If you know someone
interested in becoming a player, a buddy, or an adult coach, please reach out to me. There is no
commitment to come every week, but you definitely may discover that you want to!
We meet Saturdays at Greis Park from 4:00-5:00 during the spring and fall Lynbrook/ East
Rockaway Soccer seasons.
Please feel free to get in touch with any questions you may have about our program or how you
can become a part of it.
